Bina Bangsa School: How We Differ From Other SPK Schools

There are a lot of SPK schools in Indonesia, especially Jakarta, to choose from, and it could be a daunting experience for parents to choose which school is best for their child. There are a lot to consider, as school will undoubtedly affect a child’s growth. You would certainly want your investment in your child’s education to be worthwhile.

So, here are 5 ways in which Bina Bangsa School (BBS) differs from other SPK schools in the country.

Campuses

BBS is among the biggest networks of SPK schools in Indonesia, with a total of six campuses throughout the country. Two campuses are located within Jakarta, in Kebon Jeruk and Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK). Outside of the capital, there are BBS Bandung, BBS Malang, BBS Semarang, and BBS Balikpapan. All six campuses are authorised Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) centres.

History

BBS was first established in 2001, becoming the first international school in Indonesia to be accredited by Cambridge. With over two decades of experience in providing quality internationally-recognised education, BBS is one of the nation’s leading SPK schools, with an alumni network that is spread across top universities worldwide.

Culture

In addition to being the first Cambridge-accredited school in Indonesia, BBS is also a pioneer in including Chinese as a part of its curriculum. Since it was first established in 2001, BBS adopts a Singaporean-style Cambridge program for its education. On top of English as the language of instruction, BBS also teaches Chinese language as a second language, as well as Bahasa Indonesia.

Today, BBS is the leading culturally Chinese school in Indonesia, with emphasis on cultural preservation and studies. Students are encouraged to celebrate their Chinese heritage through various on-campus activities, such as co-curricular activities (CCAs). An example of this is the school’s Chinese Orchestra, who performed for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Core values

BBS also prides itself in building outstanding character amongst its students that prepares them for life beyond school. Students are taught the school’s core values—dedication, integrity, teamwork, passion, and compassion—through daily lessons, as well as through the various CCAs that students can participate in.

Furthermore, our vision is to nurture leaders who strive to be their best through lifelong learning, rooted in our culture, grounded in the Word of God. In addition to their daily education and interaction with staff and faculty members, students are encouraged to exemplify Christ-like character through service work that benefits communities around them.

BBS accepts applications for all its six campuses in Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Malang, and Balikpapan for Pre-School, Primary, Secondary, and Junior College education levels. Click here to find out how to apply.
