How is The Growth of China as a Global Power Affecting My Children's FutureĀ

Over the last decade or so, you might have seen it everywhere in the news. China has grown into an undeniable global power, both financially and technologically, and culturally. So, how did China become one of the world's leading powers, and how did it happen at a pace relatively faster than any other country? Moreover, how does it impact your child's educational needs?

One of the world's most open and most significant economies in recent history, China's growth as a global financial power is visible almost everywhere globally. It plays an essential role in the globalised economy today. Not only financially, but China's growth is also shown in the significant technological advancements that have come out of the country.

Despite these recent advancements in Chinese culture, it remains a deeply rooted culture in tradition and values.

At BBS, not only do we understand the constantly evolving landscape of our world, but we also understand and value the importance of preserving our culture. We are committed to teaching our students the traditions and values of our culture. Our greater mission is to ensure that our students will graduate equipped with an enhanced understanding of Chinese culture and values in the age where Asia, mainly driven by China, grows its dominance in the world economy.

Without a doubt, the recent rise of China as a global power will have an impact on your child's future. To a certain extent, the growth of China into the world stage may shape their future career opportunities and career paths. It is crucial to provide your child with the proper education that equips them with the competitive edge needed.

By studying at BBS, our students will be exposed to various aspects of their culture through language, as we teach Chinese as a second language. Ever since BBS was first founded in 2001, one of our core academic investments was into the Chinese Language subject, as we understand that one of the essential ways to preserve culture is through language.

In addition to learning the language, students could further explore the heritage of the Chinese culture through various on-campus co-curricular activities (CCAs). On top of the usual CCAs you would find at other schools, such as athletics and arts, we also offer CCAs centred around celebrating our Chinese heritage.

For example, our Chinese Orchestra programme is considered one of the best in the country. It had recently performed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Inspired by traditional Chinese values such as perseverance, diligence, and hard work, BBS takes pride in expecting excellence within every one of our students. Furthermore, at the root of our philosophy as an institution, we expect our students to exhibit our core values of dedication, integrity, teamwork, passion, and compassion in everything they do, both academically and practically.
